23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

The London to York Stagecoaches

EDITORS COMMENTS
is a captivating oil painting by George Wright, showcasing the hustle and bustle of early 20th century transportation. The artist skillfully captures the essence of this era with his meticulous attention to detail and vibrant brushstrokes. In this medium-sized canvas, measuring 40.6 x 61cm, we are transported back in time to witness the daily journey from London to York. The stagecoaches, drawn by magnificent horses, traverse an uphill road as they make their way through the picturesque English countryside. A footman can be seen assisting passengers as they embark on their journey. Wright's composition beautifully contrasts the speed and movement of the galloping horses with the serene surroundings of nature. Dust kicks up from beneath hooves, creating a sense of energy and excitement within the scene. The painting not only captures a specific moment in history but also invites viewers to contemplate themes such as contrast and comparison between rural landscapes and bustling city life. It serves as a reminder of how public transport has evolved over time while highlighting our continued reliance on vehicles for travel. This remarkable artwork is part of a private collection and showcases Wright's mastery in capturing both human activity and natural phenomena with equal finesse. Its timeless appeal makes it an excellent addition to any fine art enthusiast's collection or gallery space.
