Tyrannosaurus rex dinosaurs mating

When fully grown, this bipedal dinosaur was one of the largest ever terrestrial predators, measuring over 12 metres in length from head to tail. It is thought to have combined hunting and scavenging to feed itself. Its fossils are found in North America, and date to 67 million years ago, during the Cretaceous period

Namaqua chameleon catching prey

Namaqua chameleon (Chamaeleo namaquensis) catching prey with its unfurled tongue. This tongue extends out extremely rapidly in just a few fractions of a second. Here, it has caught an Onymacris plana beetle. This chameleon is found in the Namib Desert of Namibia and Angola, where it feeds on insects, and small lizards and snakes. Photographed in Namibia
