Phobos and Mars

Phobos orbiting Mars, artwork. Phobos is the larger of the two Martian moons. It is irregular in shape, measuring 19x21x27 kilometres. The large crater, Stickney Crater, is 10 kilometres across. Phobos orbits Mars at 9400 kilometres distance and takes just over 7.6 hours to orbit. On the visible hemisphere of Mars, the northern polar region has carbon dioxide ice (white). Olympus Mons volcano, the largest mountain in the solar system, is just below and left of Stickney Crater. The massive Valles Marineris canyon system runs horizontally at upper left. The Milky Way is in the background, passing behind Phobos

EDITORS COMMENTS
This artwork print showcases the enigmatic beauty of Phobos, one of Mars' two moons, as it gracefully orbits its host planet. With irregular dimensions measuring 19x21x27 kilometers, Phobos dominates the frame with its mysterious allure. The focal point is undoubtedly Stickney Crater, a colossal impact site spanning an impressive 10 kilometers in diameter. As we explore this mesmerizing scene further, our eyes are drawn to the northern polar region of Mars adorned with a blanket of white carbon dioxide ice. Awe-inspiring in scale and grandeur, Olympus Mons volcano emerges just below and to the left of Stickney Crater - an imposing reminder that it holds the title for being the largest mountain in our entire solar system. Stretching across the upper left section lies Valles Marineris canyon system; a massive geological marvel that captivates astronomers and planetary enthusiasts alike. Against this backdrop lies the ethereal Milky Way galaxy, casting its celestial glow upon Phobos as it continues on its cosmic journey. This stunning illustration transports us into a world where science meets artistry; where dry scientific facts blend seamlessly with creative imagination. It invites us to contemplate not only the wonders within our own solar system but also ponder upon humanity's place within this vast universe.
