Blood vessels in a frog ovary, SEM
Blood vessels in the ovary of a female frog, coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM). Frogs produce hundreds of eggs, which are expelled and fertilised in the water. This is a resin cast: the blood vessels were filled with a liquid resin, which then set hard. The surrounding tissues were then removed chemically, leaving the cast. Magnification: x35 when printed 10cm high
