23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures the mesmerizing beauty of Erta Ale, a steaming hornito located in the Danakil Depression of Ethiopia. Taken on February 8,2008, by talented photographer Martin Rietze, this horizontal image showcases the raw power and intensity of volcanic activity. The vibrant colors and intricate details showcased in this photograph bring to life the rugged terrain and rocky landscape surrounding Erta Ale. The steam rising from the hornito creates an ethereal atmosphere, shrouding the scene in a mystical fog that adds to its allure. As one gazes upon this image, they are transported to a world where geology takes center stage. The unique topography and geological features of this region are highlighted through the presence of igneous rocks and rock formations scattered across the land. Intriguingly captured during daylight hours, despite being surrounded by rough terrain and inhospitable conditions, Erta Ale stands tall as a testament to nature's incredible forces. This pyroclastic peak serves as a reminder of Earth's ever-changing landscapes and our planet's dynamic geoscience. Martin Rietze's skillful photography allows us to appreciate not only the physical geography but also evokes curiosity about these natural wonders. Without any human presence within frame, we are left solely with nature's spectacle - an awe-inspiring sight that reminds us of both our insignificance in comparison to Earth's grandeur and our deep connection with it.
