Solar system planets

Solar system planets. Computer artwork of the eight planets of the solar system, which are arrayed from left to right in order of distance from the Sun (left). The four small rocky planets of the inner solar system are Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars. The four large gas giant planets of the outer solar system are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Pluto was re-categorised as a Dwarf planet in 2006, so it is not included here. At lower right is a galaxy, and a small celestial body (an asteroid or comet) is seen at lower left

17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This stunning print captures the beauty and complexity of our solar system. In this computer artwork, we see the eight planets arranged in order of their distance from the Sun. Starting from the left, we have Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars - known as the rocky inner planets. Moving further out are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune - the magnificent gas giants of our outer solar system. It's worth noting that Pluto is not included here since it was re-categorized as a Dwarf planet in 2006. However, its absence does not diminish the awe-inspiring nature of this image. At lower right corner lies a distant galaxy reminding us of the vastness of our universe. Meanwhile, at lower left corner we spot a small celestial body - possibly an asteroid or comet - adding another layer to this cosmic tableau. The level of detail in this illustration is remarkable; each planet showcases unique characteristics such as rings (Saturn), large size (Jupiter), or vibrant blue hue (Neptune). The orbits depicted emphasize their comparative distances from one another. Overall, this artwork serves as a reminder of humanity's ongoing exploration and fascination with planetary science. It invites us to contemplate our place within this vast celestial tapestry while appreciating both the grandeur and intricacy present throughout our solar system.
