Nanotube technology, artwork

Nanotube technology. Conceptual computer artwork of cylindrical fullerene molecules (carbon nanotubes). The carbon atoms are arranged in a structure consisting of interlinking hexagonal rings. Fullerenes are a structural form (allotrope) of carbon. Theoretically, a wide range of molecular shapes can be engineered at the molecular level using fullerenes. Such structures are being investigated for a wide range of technological and medical uses

31"x27" (79x69cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 24x20 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 31x27 inches (787x685mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the intricate beauty of nanotube technology through a mesmerizing artwork. The image depicts cylindrical fullerene molecules, specifically carbon nanotubes, in a conceptual computer-generated illustration. These nanotubes are composed of carbon atoms arranged in interlinking hexagonal rings, forming a unique and visually striking structure. Fullerenes, as an allotrope of carbon, offer immense potential for engineering various molecular shapes at the atomic level. This cutting-edge technology is being extensively explored for its wide range of applications in both technological and medical fields. The composition and structural properties of these nanotubes make them highly adaptable to fulfill diverse purposes. In this artistic representation, the viewer can appreciate the precision and complexity involved in creating such molecular structures. The organic nature of these tubes gives them an elegant yet futuristic appearance resembling rods or cylinders with their distinct shape. The fusion between artistry and scientific knowledge showcased in this photograph highlights the significance of nanotechnology as it continues to revolutionize our world. By delving into the realm of atoms and molecules, scientists are unlocking new possibilities that could reshape industries and enhance medical advancements. Science Photo Library has masterfully captured this intricate aspect of science through their lens, inviting us to marvel at the wonders hidden within even the tiniest building blocks of matter.
