23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print from the early 1900s transports us back in time to The New Inn, a charming pub nestled in the picturesque village of Manaccan, Cornwall. Stepping into this historic establishment feels like stepping into a bygone era. In the foreground of the image, we see a woman and a young child standing in the doorway of The New Inn. They exude an air of warmth and familiarity, perhaps regular patrons or even family members of E. Lovesey, who was the license holder at that time. Behind them lies a quaint thatched roof that adds to the rustic charm of this traditional Cornish public house. As our gaze wanders further into the frame, we notice an intriguing motorbike parked on the right-hand side with its registration number AF444 proudly displayed. This detail gives us insight into how transportation has evolved over time. The signage adorning The New Inn showcases its offerings: tea gardens for leisurely strolls amidst nature's beauty, refreshment rooms for indulging in delicious treats, and comfortable accommodation for weary travelers seeking respite. Captured by photographer Samuel John Govier with remarkable skill and attention to detail, this print serves as both a historical document and an invitation to immerse ourselves in Cornwall's rich cultural heritage. It reminds us that even though times may change, some places retain their timeless appeal – just like The New Inn in Manaccan.
