31"x27" (79x69cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 24x20 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 31x27 inches (787x685mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This stunning brass rubbing depicts Adrian, the grandson of Bartholomew Roeland, from the city of Breda in Holland during the 16th century. The intricately designed monumental brass, created around 1550, showcases Adrian in a contemplative pose, surrounded by a multitude of angels and symbolic motifs. Adrian's halo encircles his head, signifying his sacred status, while a square Latin inscription encases the border of the plate. The Dutch coat of arms, featuring a lion and a fleur-de-lis, can be seen at the top of the rubbing. Angels, each holding a cup or a communion plate, surround Adrian, symbolizing the spiritual nourishment and support he received throughout his life. A prominent angel, holding a large chalice, hovers above Adrian, pouring its contents into the cup in his hand. This act represents the Eucharist, a sacred Christian ritual that symbolizes the body and blood of Christ. The communion cup, adorned with a wreath, is a symbol of the eternal life that Adrian has attained. The intricate details of this brass rubbing are a testament to the exceptional craftsmanship of the time. The delicate etching of the angels' wings, the precise lines of their faces, and the delicate folds of their robes all contribute to the overall beauty and significance of this historical artifact. This monumental brass rubbing is a valuable piece of Dutch cultural heritage, providing a glimpse into the religious beliefs and artistic sensibilities of the 16th century. The use of angels, Latin inscriptions, and symbolic motifs is a common theme in Dutch brass rubbings of this era, reflecting the deep-rooted influence of the Catholic Church on Dutch society during this time.
