31"x27" (79x69cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 24x20 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 31x27 inches (787x685mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Dominance and Submission" is a captivating bronze sculpture by acclaimed British artist Barry Sutton, showcased in the Primates exhibition at the Natural History Museum in London. This intricately detailed work of art depicts two Macaca sp. macaques, a species of Old World monkey commonly known as rhesus macaques or arboreal guenons. The sculpture encapsulates the complex social dynamics and power struggles inherent in primate societies. Situated within the dimly lit, architecturally stunning galleries of the museum, the bronze piece stands out with its warm, patinated surface that mimics the natural textures of the primates' fur. The larger macaque, with its dominant posture and assertive gaze, towers over the smaller one, who bows in submission. The intricate details of their facial expressions and body language convey a sense of tension and vulnerability, inviting viewers to ponder the intricacies of primate social hierarchies. As part of the Cercopithecidae family, Macaca sp. macaques are native to Africa and Asia, and are characterized by their agile limbs, prehensile tails, and opposable thumbs. This sculpture, with its lifelike details, offers a glimpse into the lives of these fascinating creatures and their intricate social structures. The exhibition, which is home to a diverse collection of primate species, is a testament to the rich biodiversity of the Eutheria order, which includes primates, elephants, and aardvarks. As visitors wander through the galleries, they are transported to various habitats and ecosystems, gaining a deeper appreciation for the complexities of primate behavior and evolution. Barry Sutton's "Dominance and Submission" is a must-see piece in the Primates exhibition at the Natural History Museum in London, offering a thought-provoking and visually stunning exploration of primate social dynamics.
