FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This dramatic process-lithograph, titled "While Horse and Hero Fell," depicts the iconic Charge of the Light Brigade during the Battle of Balaklava in the Crimean War. The image was created 21 years after the event, in 1875, providing a poignant and enduring visual representation of this historic military engagement. The Charge of the Light Brigade was a cavalry charge led by the British Light Brigade against a Russian artillery battery on October 25, 1854. The charge was ordered despite conflicting information and resulted in heavy casualties for the British forces. This lithograph, with its focus on the horses, captures the chaos, intensity, and bravery of the charge. The horses in the image are depicted in mid-gallop, their hooves kicking up clouds of dust as they charge towards the viewer. Their riders, dressed in red uniforms, are shown with determined expressions, some brandishing swords or holding reins with white-knuckled grips. The horses' sweat-drenched coats glisten in the sun, and their eyes are wide with fear and exertion. This powerful image, originally entitled "While Horse and Hero Fell," serves as a testament to the courage and sacrifice of the soldiers and their horses during the Battle of Balaklava. The use of the lithographic process, which allowed for intricate detail and tonal range, adds to the image's dramatic impact and enduring appeal.
