Fingerprint types. 19th-century artwork showing three of the fingerprint types (arch, loop and whorl) identified by British scientist Francis Galton (1822-1911), who wrote on the subject from 1888. This artwork is from Mysteries of Police and Crime (1898) by the British crime historian Major Arthur Griffiths (1838-1908), Inspector of Her Majesty's Prisons and deputy governor of Millbank and Wormwood Scrubs

Barbershop in Central London - Mayfair. G F Trumper & Sons. An elaborate belt-driven machinery above the mirror drives a head massaging brush. Established 1875. Matchless range of gentleman's fragrances and grooming products. Still at the same location today and still has the massaging brushes - in use today! Their own preparations bear a famous cap in the shape of a crown - visible in the cabinets above the sink counter
