FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

Andre Chenier: A Passionate Voice of Reason in the Chaos of the French Revolution Andre Chenier, born in Paris in 1762, was a renowned French writer and revolutionary whose life was tragically cut short by the very revolution he had sought to influence. As a poet, playwright, and journalist, Chenier's works reflected the complexities and contradictions of the French society during the late 18th century. He was a passionate advocate for reason and moderation in the face of the excesses that were beginning to engulf the Revolution. The image captures the intensity and depth of Chenier's character. With piercing eyes and a determined expression, he gazes into the distance, as if contemplating the tumultuous events unfolding around him. The backdrop of the print, with its ominous clouds and stormy sky, serves as a stark reminder of the turmoil and chaos that was enveloping France during this period. Despite his efforts to promote reason and moderation, Chenier found himself at odds with the radical elements of the Revolution. He was arrested in 1793, accused of counter-revolutionary activities, and was subsequently sentenced to death by the guillotine. The date of his execution, 1794, is inscribed at the bottom of the print, serving as a poignant reminder of the tragic end to this remarkable man's life.
