23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Personal Appearance, White Plains, NY, 1936: A Vintage Playbill from the Federal Theatre Project This vintage playbill invites us to step back in time to the 1930s, specifically to White Plains, New York, where the Federal Theatre Project was in full swing. Established in 1935 as part of the New Deal's Works Progress Administration (WPA), the Federal Theatre Project aimed to conserve and develop the skills of theater workers, re-employ them on public relief, and bring live theatrical performances to thousands of Americans who had never before experienced the magic of the stage. The playbill, featuring the comedic production "Personal Appearance" by Lawrence Riley, showcases a striking design in navy blue and red hues. The title, "Personal Appearance," is written in bold, Western Script typeface, while the subtitle, "A Comedy in One Act," appears in smaller, red text below. The play's location is listed as the Peekskill Playhouse in Westchester County, New York. The playbill's top left corner bears the emblem of the Federal Theatre Project, with the words "Federal Theatre Project" written in capital letters in a simple, red text. The bottom right corner includes the date, "White Plains, N.Y., March 25, 1936," and the words "Presented by the Federal Theatre Project." This playbill is a testament to the emergence of the arts during the 1930s, a time when the country was grappling with political and economic challenges. The Federal Theatre Project, and playbills like this one, played a crucial role in preserving and promoting the performing arts during this period, ensuring that the arts remained an integral part of American heritage and culture.
