Jean Pecquet (1622-1674), French anatomist. Pecquet initially studied classics, before graduating in medicine in 1652. He conducted various anatomical experiments, including one on a dog during which he discovered the thoracic duct, the major efferent lymph duct into which lymph drains from the peripheral lymph nodes.
