An early, undated photograph of a smiling King George VI (1895-1952), and his wife Queen Elizabeth(the Queen Mother)(1900-2002)at Ballater railway station, Scotland. Dressed informally, with the Queen Mother sporting a cloche hat and an off the shoulder fur stole, they are accompanied by a dog on a leash, and followed by a railway worker. Ballater was the nearest railway station to Balmoral Castle, until it was then closed by the British Railways Board in 1966, as part of the "Beeching cuts"

Members of the Royal family leave St. George's Chapel, Windsor after attending the Christmas service there. In the foreground is Queen Elizabeth II holding the hand of her youngest son, Prince Edward (Earl of Wessex) as she talks to her husband, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Behind Prince Edward is Prince Andrew (Duke of York) with his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother while his sister, Princess Anne shakes hands with an unidentified prelate. At top far left is Angus Ogilvy with his wife Princess Alexandra of Kent who is talking to Lord Snowdon. Next to Snowdon is his won, Viscount Linley. In front of Lord Snowdon and partly hidden is Prince Charles. At top far right are the Duke and Duchess of Kent with their children, the Earl of St Andrews and Lady Helen Windsor. Date: 1969

Duke and Duchess of York - Austrian Folk Dance Performance

Albert, Duke of York (later King George VI 1895-1952) and Elizabeth, Duchess of York (later Elizabeth, the Queen Mother 1900-2002) enjoy a performance by a group of Austrian Folk Dancers during their tea with Baron Franckenstein, at an exhibition of Austrian Art and Industry at Dorland House, Regent Street, London. Georg Freiherr von und zu Franckenstein (later Sir George Franckenstein) (1878-1953) was the eldest son of Karl Baron von und zu Franckenstein ) and his wife, Elma nee Countess von Schonborn-Wiesentheid ) and a member of the Franckenstein family. Date: 1934
