The fruit, encased in a red, rough, and papery outer shell, reveals a luscious, juicy, and sweet inner aril surrounding a single seed. The spherical Lychee fruit is characterized by its agariciform or mushroom-like structures, known as sferulites, which are visible on the outer surface.
