The Battle of Terheide, depiction of a naval battle fought on 10 August 1653 between the English and Dutch fleets during the Anglo-Dutch Wars. The largest vessel in the Dutch fleet, the Brederode, commanded by Admiral Maerten Harpertsz Tromp, is firing its cannons at an English ship (centre).
