Royal Vauxhall pre-flight consultation. Historical artwork depicting a meeting held prior to the flight of the Royal Vauxhall in 1836. The balloon flight, which set a record for distance covered in a balloon, departed from Vauxhall, London on 7th November and arrived in Weilburg, Germany, 18 hours later. The balloon is at upper left. The men depicted are, from left to right: Walter Prideaux, John Hollins, William James. Around the table are: Robert Hollond, Charles Green, and Thomas Monck Mason.
