This print titled "Veduta interna dell Atrio del Portico di Ottavia" transports the viewer back in time to ancient Rome. The image, captured by Artokoloro, showcases the internal view of the atrium and portico of Octavia's Portico, also known as Porticus Octaviae. Giovanni Battista Piranesi, an Italian artist from Mogliano Veneto, created this etching in 1760. His meticulous attention to detail is evident in every inch of this plate measuring 22 x 28 inches (559 x 711 cm). The print offers a glimpse into one of Rome's most well-preserved sections - a complex with colonnades originally built during the Republican era and later restored by Emperor Augustus. As we gaze upon this artwork, we are transported into a world where history comes alive. We find ourselves standing alongside the spectator within this grand space. The sheer magnitude of the architecture leaves us awestruck; each column tells its own story while forming a harmonious symphony that resonates through time. The play of light and shadow adds depth to the scene, emphasizing both the grandeur and serenity that once filled these hallowed halls. It is as if we can almost hear whispers from centuries past echoing through these corridors. Artokoloro's masterful reproduction allows us to appreciate Piranesi's genius and his ability to capture not just physical structures but also emotions evoked by these ancient
