Andromeda Galaxy with two companion galaxies

Great Andromeda Galaxy. Computer-coloured image of the Great Andromeda Galaxy (M31; NGC 224). It is located 2.2 million light years from Earth in the constellation Andromeda. At 200 light years across it is the largest galaxy in the " local group", the cluster of around 25 galaxies that includes our own, the Milky Way. Like the Milky Way, Andromeda is a spiral galaxy with a dense central bulge packed with millions of stars. Also on this image are two small companion galaxies near Andromeda: M32 or NGC 205 (at upper right) and M110 or NGC 221 (the small star-like object just below Andromedas centre)

EDITORS COMMENTS
This stunning print captures the awe-inspiring beauty of the Andromeda Galaxy, also known as M31 or NGC 224. Located a staggering 2.2 million light years away from Earth in the constellation Andromeda, this galactic masterpiece is a sight to behold. With a diameter of 200 light years, it proudly holds the title of being the largest galaxy in our "local group" which consists of approximately 25 galaxies including our very own Milky Way. Resembling its celestial sibling, Andromeda boasts a spiral structure with a densely packed central bulge teeming with millions of stars. The intricate details and vibrant colors brought out by computer coloring make this image truly mesmerizing. But that's not all! This print also showcases two small companion galaxies near Andromeda: M32 or NGC 205 positioned at the upper right corner and M110 or NGC 221 appearing as a star-like object just below Andromeda's center. These companions add an extra layer of intrigue to an already breathtaking scene. As we gaze upon this cosmic marvel, let us revel in its grandeur and contemplate the vastness and mystery that lies beyond our own familiar Milky Way.
