Earthrise over Moon, Apollo 8. This famous image, one of the first of the Earth seen from another world, was taken by US astronauts on board the Apollo 8 spacecraft on 24th December 1968 as they orbited the Moon. The astronauts saw this view with the Moons surface at right, but the image is usually displayed in this orientation to show the Earth rising over the Moon. Along with the first photographs of the Earth from space, this photograph become iconic for its depiction of the beauty and fragility of the Earth

Bevelled wood effect frame, card mounted, 12x12 archival quality photo print. Overall outside dimensions 18x18 inches (46x46cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached.
