The image captures a moment frozen in history, revealing the architectural beauty of this ancient structure. Built by Royal Order on April 16th, 1617, the Arsenal served as a crucial defense stronghold for the country. Its construction was completed in 1724 after years of dedicated work. Adjacent to it stands the shipyard, established in 1630 by Alonso de Ferrera and Juan Perez de Porto. Together, these structures symbolize Cuba's rich maritime heritage. The photograph showcases an exterior view of both sites bustling with activity. People can be seen going about their daily lives - women elegantly dressed alongside men engaged in various tasks.
