Hey, Mom! Can you hear me now? I'm practicing my hawk calls from this awesome oak tree perch in Fakahatchee Strand State Park. Check out my red-shouldered feathers, aren't they fabulous? I may be an immature fledgling, but I've got the voice of a seasoned predator! I can see all the wildlife down below - squirrels scurrying about and rabbits hopping around like they're playing tag. Oh boy, it's hard not to get distracted by all these potential prey! But don't worry, Mom taught me well. She said patience is key when hunting for food. Speaking of Mom, she built an incredible nest nearby where we can rest and bond as a family. It's our cozy little haven amidst this vast wilderness.
