The Old Man of Hoy and St Johns Head, on the island of Hoy, Orkney Islands. The Old Man is a classic sea stack, a 137 metre (450 feet) tall pillar of sandstone that has been eroded until it stands alone, connected only by a narrow neck of rock to the cliffs forming Hoys western coast. Beyond it can be seen St Johns Head, the highest perpendicular cliff in Britain at 351 metres (1140 feet).
