Descent module of the Cassini Huygens probe
Huygens probe testing. View of the Huygens probe during testing in a servicing facility. Huygens will be carried on the Cassini mission to Saturn, and will land on Titan, Saturns largest moon. It will take various atmospheric measurements during its descent, and study the surface when landed. Cassini will arrive at Titan in 2004. The silver cylinders on top of the probe contain antennae which will send information back to Earth. The square box at upper right contains the parachute which will slow its descent

17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the descent module of the Cassini Huygens probe during testing in a servicing facility. The Huygens probe, an integral part of the Cassini mission to Saturn, is designed to land on Titan, Saturn's largest moon. As it descends onto Titan's surface, it will conduct various atmospheric measurements and study its terrain upon landing. The image highlights the intricate details of this remarkable space craft. The silver cylinders positioned atop the probe house antennae that will transmit crucial information back to Earth. Meanwhile, at the upper right corner of the frame, we can observe a square box containing a parachute which will play a vital role in slowing down its descent. This photograph not only captures the technical brilliance behind these groundbreaking missions but also symbolizes humanity's relentless pursuit of knowledge and exploration beyond our planet. It serves as a testament to our insatiable curiosity about what lies beyond our own atmosphere. With Cassini scheduled to arrive at Titan in 2004, this image offers us a glimpse into mankind's quest for understanding distant celestial bodies and unravelling their mysteries. Science Photo Library has once again provided us with an awe-inspiring visual representation of scientific research and discovery within our vast universe.
