Asteroid belt, orbital diagram

Asteroid belt. Orbital diagram showing the Solar System out to the orbit of Jupiter, including the asteroid belt. The Sun (yellow) is at centre, surrounded by the first five planets (not to scale) and their orbits (white circles). From inner to outer, the planets are: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, and Jupiter. The asteroid belt is shown between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. The Trojan asteroids are also shown, at the L4 and L5 points, 60 degrees ahead or behind Jupiter (lower right) in its orbit. L4 and L5 are two of the five Lagrangian points of gravitational stability, with smaller objects (such as asteroids) held there by the larger mass of the planet

31"x27" (79x69cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 24x20 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 31x27 inches (787x685mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

FSC Real Wood Frame and Double Mounted with White Conservation Mountboard - Professionally Made and Ready to Hang

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print titled "Asteroid Belt, Orbital Diagram" takes us on a visual journey through our Solar System. In this stunning illustration by Claus Lunau, we are presented with an accurate representation of the Sun at the center, emitting its vibrant yellow glow. Surrounding it are the first five planets - Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, and Jupiter - depicted in their respective orbits as white circles. However, what truly captures our attention is the asteroid belt showcased between Mars and Jupiter. This vast region filled with countless asteroids serves as a reminder of the dynamic nature of our celestial neighborhood. The Trojan asteroids also make an appearance at the L4 and L5 points near Jupiter's orbit. These Lagrangian points represent areas of gravitational stability where smaller objects like asteroids can be held in place by the larger mass of the planet. The black background enhances the beauty and intricacy of this artwork while emphasizing each element's significance within our planetary system. As we gaze upon this mesmerizing composition, we cannot help but marvel at both its artistic brilliance and scientific accuracy. Claus Lunau's masterpiece not only showcases his talent for creating visually striking images but also provides us with a deeper understanding of our cosmic surroundings. It serves as a testament to humanity's ongoing exploration and fascination with space – a constant reminder that there is still so much more to discover beyond our own blue planet.
