23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this print by Maxim Shemetov, we are transported to the hill of Savur-Mohyla, east of Donetsk, where a lone Pro-Russian separatist stands guard. The image captures the intensity and tension that permeated Ukraine during its military conflict in 2014. The man's silhouette against the backdrop of an open space reveals his dedication and determination to protect his position amidst political unrest. As sunlight bathes the landscape, it creates a serene atmosphere that contrasts with the storm brewing on the horizon line. This photograph not only showcases nature's beauty but also highlights environmental issues faced by war-torn regions. The power of nature is juxtaposed with human conflict as clouds gather ominously overhead. Shemetov's creative use of composition draws our attention to both the individual and their surroundings. With no recognizable features visible, we are reminded that this could be any soldier caught up in a larger struggle for control. As we gaze at this picturesque scene, it evokes a sense of mystery and contemplation about humanity's capacity for destruction and resilience. It serves as a reminder that even in times of turmoil, there is still beauty to be found in nature if one takes a moment to relax and appreciate it. Overall, Shemetov's photograph encapsulates both the harsh reality and enduring hope present within conflicts like those experienced in Ukraine during 2014.
