To match Feature GOLD PEOPLE

An employee displays a gold tooth at a shop that purchases gold in the Ginza district of Tokyo August 23, 2011. Spot gold sells now for $1, 830 an ounce, up nearly a third this year. With currencies and stocks faltering and prices of other commodities held back by slowing economic growth, the frenzy for gold has gone global. Many are cashing in on the gold they have at home -- or on gold teeth -- although the trend is slowing in the belief prices will rise further. Picture taken August 23, 2011. 17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this photo print, taken by Toru Hanai in the Ginza district of Tokyo, we are presented with a striking image that encapsulates the global frenzy for gold. The photograph showcases an employee at a shop that purchases gold proudly displaying a gleaming gold tooth. The timing of this picture is significant as it was captured on August 23,2011, when spot gold prices were soaring at $1,830 per ounce - up almost one-third from the beginning of that year. As currencies and stocks faltered while economic growth slowed down worldwide, people turned to the stability and allure of gold. This close-up shot highlights not only the intricate detail of the golden tooth but also captures the essence of human ingenuity and creativity in utilizing precious metals like gold. The unrecognizable hand wearing gloves adds an air of mystery to the scene while emphasizing both trade and craftsmanship. The image serves as a reminder that individuals across different cultures and backgrounds have been cashing in on their personal stash of gold or even parting ways with their cherished golden teeth due to its increasing value. However, there is also mention within this caption that this trend may be slowing down as people anticipate further price increases. Overall, Toru Hanai's photograph perfectly encapsulates society's fascination with gold during uncertain times - showcasing how something as small as a tooth can hold immense value in our ever-changing world economy.
