23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this thought-provoking image captured by Jose Gomez, we witness a man carrying an unexpected burden as he traverses the Tachira river border into Colombia from Venezuela. The photograph, taken near Colombia's Villa del Rosario village on August 27,2015, encapsulates the dire circumstances faced by many individuals amidst political and economic turmoil. As Venezuela implemented measures to control smuggling and paramilitary activity, two border crossings were closed and hundreds of Colombians were deported. This man's choice to carry a toilet across the river serves as a poignant symbol of both necessity and resilience in the face of adversity. The composition itself is striking; against the backdrop of nature's serenity, contrasting stripes on his shirt mirror the tumultuous weather that surrounds him. A side view captures his determined gesture while navigating through wet terrain with unwavering determination. This photograph speaks volumes about emigration and displacement - themes that resonate deeply within our global society today. It prompts us to reflect upon how basic household objects can become symbols of survival when one is forced to leave their home behind. Through Gomez's lens, we are reminded not only of individual stories but also larger societal issues at play. This powerful image invites viewers to contemplate the human cost associated with political decisions and highlights the strength found within those who must forge new paths in search of stability and hope.
