23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this print captured by Lai Seng Sin, we witness the extraordinary devotion of a Hindu worshipper during the Thaipusam festival at Batu Caves in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The image showcases a close-up shot of a devotee's back adorned with hooks that have been pierced into his skin. Despite the unrecognizable face, the intensity and pain etched on his features are palpable. This powerful visual encapsulates the essence of religious ceremonies and their ability to push individuals beyond physical limits in pursuit of spiritual fulfillment. The piercing is not merely an act of self-inflicted pain but rather a creative use of body modification to demonstrate unwavering faith and commitment. The photograph beautifully captures both the sharp condition of these piercing instruments as well as their juxtaposition against soft human flesh. It invites viewers to contemplate the depth of devotion exhibited by this brave individual who willingly endures such discomfort for his beliefs. As part of a grand procession, this worshipper joins countless others in celebrating Thaipusam - an important Hindu festival marked by elaborate rituals and acts of penance. Against the backdrop of Malaysia's vibrant cultural heritage, this image serves as a testament to how traditions can thrive even in modern times. Lai Seng Sin skillfully employs depth-of-field techniques to blur out distractions from the environment, allowing us to focus solely on this remarkable display of faith. Through his lens, he captures not only an awe-inspiring moment frozen in time but also provides us
