23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This vintage print takes us back to the summer of 1938, when the Great Western Railway (GWR) enticed holidaymakers with monthly return tickets to Cornwall. The poster, skillfully designed by Herbert Alker Tripp, transports us to a picturesque beach along the Cornish coast. As we gaze at the artwork, we are immediately drawn into a scene of tranquility and natural beauty. The sandy shoreline stretches out before us, framed by majestic cliffs and rugged rocks that stand as sentinels against the crashing waves. It is a place where time seems to slow down and worries melt away. Tripp's talent shines through in his ability to capture not only the physical landscape but also the essence of a carefree seaside getaway. We can almost feel the warmth of sun-kissed skin and hear laughter carried on gentle sea breezes. This idyllic setting beckons us to escape from our daily routines and immerse ourselves in this coastal paradise. It is fascinating to learn that Tripp was not only an accomplished artist but also had a distinguished career with New Scotland Yard. His passion for painting blossomed during his spare time and continued even after retirement. His artistic prowess extended beyond GWR posters; he also created designs for SR (Southern Railway). In recognition of his contributions, Tripp was knighted in 1945. This remarkable print serves as both an advertisement for railway travel and a timeless work of art that captures the allure of Cornwall's Cornish Riviera. Its
