31"x27" (79x69cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 24x20 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 31x27 inches (787x685mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures the essence of The Sandwell Valley Riding Centre in West Bromwich, West Midlands. Formerly located in Staffordshire, this renowned center has been a hub for horse enthusiasts since its establishment. Nestled near two major motorway link roads, the M5 and M6, it offers a unique contrast between two forms of transport. In this snapshot from the 1970s, we witness pupils mastering one of England's most beloved sports - horse riding. These young riders are seen honing their skills under the watchful eye of experienced instructors. The horses stand tall and majestic, embodying grace and power as they navigate through the sandy terrain. However, despite being surrounded by modern transportation routes, there is an intriguing irony at play here. While cars speed along on the adjacent motorways with ease, these magnificent creatures are forever banned from utilizing them. It serves as a reminder that even amidst progress and technological advancements, some things remain unchanged. Brian Randle skillfully captures this moment in time when tradition meets contemporary infrastructure. Through his lens, he highlights not only the beauty of these animals but also their timeless connection to British culture and heritage. This evocative photograph transports us back to an era where lessons were learned not only within classrooms but also atop noble steeds. It immortalizes a slice of history that continues to resonate with those who appreciate both nature's wonders and mankind's quest for advancement in equal measure.
