Blossoming out... these budding young gardeners from Denby CofE First School are boosting the competition. As part of the Examiner Pride in Huddersfield campaign, pupils have planted aubrietia, mesembryanthemums, pansies and miniature conifers in tubs provided by the Denby Educational Foundation, an ancient charity established to help poor children in the village. Pictured with the tubs of flowers, which will be a permanent fixture at the school, are Adam Newby and Deborah Wright and other pupils. 6th June 1988

23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Blossoming out. . . these budding young gardeners from Denby CofE First School are boosting the competition. As part of the Examiner Pride in Huddersfield campaign, pupils have planted aubrietia, mesembryanthemums, pansies and miniature conifers in tubs provided by the Denby Educational Foundation, an ancient charity established to help poor children in the village. In this heartwarming print captured on 6th June 1988, we witness the joy and enthusiasm radiating from Adam Newby and Deborah Wright alongside their fellow classmates. With great care and dedication, they proudly showcase their tubs filled with vibrant flowers that will become a permanent fixture at their beloved school. These young gardeners embody the spirit of childhood curiosity and environmental stewardship as they nurture nature's beauty right within their educational grounds. Their efforts not only enhance the aesthetic appeal but also contribute to a greener environment for generations to come. This snapshot from our 'All Our Yesterdays' collection serves as a nostalgic reminder of simpler times when education extended beyond textbooks into hands-on experiences like planting gardens. It encapsulates an era where children were encouraged to connect with nature while learning valuable life skills. Let this image transport you back to West Yorkshire in the 1980s, where innocence blossomed alongside colorful blooms. Join us on Memory Lane Prints as we celebrate these remarkable pupils who continue to inspire us through their commitment towards creating a better world.
