Fur Coat Society Tradition

17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this print titled "The Last Debs" we are transported back to the enchanting era of the 1950s. Miss Lola Wigan, a vision of elegance and grace, is captured here as she arrives at Buckingham Palace for her grand debut before Queen Elizabeth II in March 1953. Dressed in a stunning ensemble befitting the occasion, Miss Wigan exudes timeless beauty and sophistication. Her exquisite fur coat drapes gracefully over her shoulders, adding an air of regality to her already impeccable attire. The fashion choices of this era come alive through her perfectly tailored dress and accessories. As she steps out of the classic car that brought her to this historic moment, one can't help but marvel at the blend of tradition and modernity represented in this image. The juxtaposition between vintage transportation and contemporary society highlights both the significance of such events within British culture and their place within a changing world. This photograph encapsulates not only Miss Wigan's individual journey but also serves as a poignant reminder of an age-old societal practice - royal debuts. These formal presentations were once cherished traditions that marked young women's entrance into high society. Through Memory Lane Prints' lens, we are granted access to relive these moments frozen in time - where glamour met tradition against the backdrop of Buckingham Palace's majestic facade. This remarkable image allows us to witness history unfold while celebrating the enduring allure of femininity, style, and heritage embodied by Miss Lola Wigan on that unforgettable day
