They are going to get a lift to Lydd Airport where they will fly to Le Touquet and then hitchhike the rest of the way to Spain. Pictured, the three girls practice thumbing lifts ready for their trip. They are, Young Mo, Eileen Fox and Evelyn Brooks (Young Mo is keeping her face turned away from the camera because her mother doesn t know yet about her trip). The skates and scooter are going with them on their hike in case they are unlucky with lifts. 30th August 1955
