17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This evocative oval portrait captures the young and intense gaze of William Hazlitt, a renowned English writer and essayist of the Romantic era. Born on April 10, 1778, in Maidstone, Kent, Hazlitt's literary career began in the late 18th century and continued until his death on September 18, 1830. Known for his incisive wit and keen observation, Hazlitt's works spanned a wide range of subjects, from politics and literature to art and culture. The portrait, with its dark background and intricately textured fabric, sets off Hazlitt's striking features - his deep-set eyes, strong jawline, and dark, curly hair. The artist's skillful use of light and shadow adds depth and dimension to the image, creating a sense of intimacy and intensity that draws the viewer in. Hazlitt's literary contributions were significant in shaping the cultural landscape of his time. He was a prolific writer, producing essays, articles, and literary criticism that challenged conventional thinking and provoked lively debate. His works were widely read and influential, and he was regarded as a leading intellectual figure in Regency England. Despite his success, Hazlitt's personal life was marked by financial struggles and personal tragedy. He was known to be a heavy drinker, and his health and relationships suffered as a result. Nevertheless, he continued to write and publish until his death in 1830, leaving behind a rich and enduring legacy in English literature.
