17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This image captures Sir Charles Wheatstone (1802-1875), a pivotal figure in the annals of physics and invention, in the prime of his intellectual pursuits. Born on February 6, 1802, in London, Wheatstone's insatiable curiosity and prodigious intellect would soon set him apart from his contemporaries. He would go on to make groundbreaking contributions to the fields of physics, optics, and acoustics, and is best known for his instrumental role in the development of the electric telegraph. Wheatstone's fascination with electricity began early in life, and by the age of 19, he had already made significant strides in understanding the phenomenon. In 1833, he collaborated with Sir William Cooke to develop an electric telegraph system, which revolutionized communication by transmitting messages instantaneously over long distances. This innovation would forever change the way information was shared and would lay the foundation for the modern telecommunications industry. In this photograph, Wheatstone's keen intellect and intense focus are evident as he engages in his research. His eyes, filled with the fire of discovery, seem to pierce through the camera lens, inviting us to join him on his journey of exploration. The intricate apparatus before him speaks to the complexity of the scientific inquiries that consumed his every waking moment. As a testament to his enduring legacy, Wheatstone's influence can still be felt in the world around us. His work on the electric telegraph paved the way for the development of more advanced communication technologies, including the telephone and the internet. This image serves as a reminder of the remarkable mind that brought us one step closer to the interconnected world we inhabit today.
