23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this evocative photograph, Emmeline Pankhurst, the renowned British suffragette leader, stands proudly next to the Women's Social and Political Union (W.S.P.U) staff car, an Austin, presented to Emmeline Pethick-Lawrence in 1909. The year is estimated to be around 1910, and the location is believed to be in the picturesque Cotswolds area of England. The W.S.P.U was a militant organization that fought for women's right to vote and other political rights. Pankhurst, dressed in a fashionable yet practical outfit, looks determined and resolute as she gazes off into the distance. A suitcase sits atop the car's roof, suggesting that she may have been on a campaign tour, traveling from place to place to rally support for the suffrage cause. The Austin staff car, with its distinctive logo and the W.S.P.U emblem on the side, stands as a testament to the organization's growing influence and power. The photograph was taken by Mr. Dennis Moss, a local photographer based in Cirencester, Gloucestershire. Moss captured a moment in history, immortalizing the iconic figure of Emmeline Pankhurst and the W.S.P.U's relentless fight for women's suffrage. This photograph is a poignant reminder of the sacrifices and struggles endured by suffragettes like Pankhurst, who paved the way for women's political representation and equality.
