17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Amidst the ruins of Stalingrad in 1942-43, an exhausted German soldier clings to the remnants of hope and determination, his weary eyes reflecting the shock and disbelief of the impending defeat. The once proud and formidable front line, now reduced to a war-torn landscape of smoldering buildings and shattered lives, burns behind him. The bitter end of the Battle of Stalingrad, one of the bloodiest and most significant battles in World War II, was drawing near. The Eastern Front of the war had become a brutal and relentless battlefield, where the harsh Russian winter and tenacious Soviet resistance took a heavy toll on both sides. The German forces, initially confident in their ability to conquer the city, found themselves bogged down in a brutal urban warfare, with the Soviets using the built-up environment to their advantage. Despite the overwhelming odds and the exhaustion that weighed heavily on his shoulders, this soldier continued to fight. The weight of history hung in the air, as the events of Stalingrad would come to shape the course of the war and ultimately lead to the downfall of the Third Reich. The rings of smoke rising from the ruins behind him serve as a grim reminder of the destruction and devastation that had unfolded over the past months. This poignant image captures the essence of the human spirit, as well as the brutal reality of war. The soldier's unyielding resolve in the face of adversity stands in stark contrast to the desolation and destruction that surrounds him. The Battle of Stalingrad would go down in history as a turning point in the war, and this photograph serves as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by soldiers on both sides during those fateful months in 1942-43.
