17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Sir Richard Webster (1842-1915), a towering figure in the annals of British legal history, is depicted in this striking photograph. Born on October 14, 1842, in Edinburgh, Scotland, Webster's legal prowess would come to define his career and leave an indelible mark on the legal landscape of his time. Trained at the University of Edinburgh and the Inner Temple, Webster was called to the bar in 1867. His early career was marked by a series of successful cases, but it was his representation of Oscar Wilde during the infamous libel trials of 1895 that would cement his reputation as a brilliant and formidable lawyer. Webster's defense of Wilde against the Marquess of Queensberry's accusations of homosexuality and libel was a landmark moment in the history of British law. Despite the social and moral climate of the time, Webster's unwavering commitment to his client's rights and his eloquent and passionate defense earned him both admiration and criticism. Webster's career continued to flourish, and he went on to serve as Solicitor General (1892-1895) and Attorney General (1895-1900) under various British prime ministers. He was knighted in 1897 for his services to the law. This photograph captures Sir Richard Webster in the prime of his career, with an air of authority and intelligence that belied his 53 years. His piercing gaze and impeccably dressed attire speak to his unwavering dedication to his profession and his unyielding commitment to justice. Sir Richard Webster's legacy as a lawyer and a defender of individual rights continues to inspire and influence the legal profession to this day. His courage and conviction in the face of adversity serve as a reminder of the power of the law to effect change and protect the rights of the individual.
