17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
1. Title: "The Red Delight of the Rosaceae Family: A Botanical Exploration of Rubus sp. Raspberries as Depicted by George Brookshaw" This botanical illustration, held in the esteemed Botany Library at the Natural History Museum in London, showcases the exquisite beauty and intricacy of Rubus sp. raspberries. The illustration, created by the skilled hand of George Brookshaw, offers a tantalizing glimpse into the world of these juicy, red edibles that belong to the Rosaceae family. The Rosaceae family, also known as the rose family, is an extensive group of flowering plants that encompasses a diverse range of fruits, including apples, pears, cherries, plums, and, of course, raspberries. This particular illustration highlights Rubus idacus, a common raspberry species, which is renowned for its succulent, red berries. Raspberries are angiosperms, dicotyledonous plants, belonging to the order Rosales, and the subclass Rosidae, within the class Eudicots. They are also members of the Rosid clade, which includes a vast array of important food crops. The plant is depicted in this illustration in its full glory, with its white, five-petaled flowers, thorny stems, and the characteristic red, drupe-like berries. George Brookshaw, a talented botanical artist, meticulously captured the delicate details of the raspberry plant, from the veins on the leaves to the tiny hairs on the stems. This illustration not only serves as a testament to Brookshaw's artistic prowess but also provides a valuable record of the botanical knowledge of the time. As you gaze upon this beautiful illustration, take a moment to appreciate the intricacies of nature and the role that raspberries play as a vital part of our food system and the natural world.
