FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
1. Title: "A Triumph of the Arts: Athena, Apollo, and the Nine Muses on a Roman Sarcophagus (circa 180 AD)" This Roman sarcophagus, dating back to approximately 180 AD, is a stunning testament to the artistic and mythological richness of the ancient world. The central scene on the sarcophagus showcases the goddess Athena, the embodiment of wisdom and strategic warfare, and the god Apollo, the deity of music, poetry, prophecy, and the sun. They are surrounded by the nine Muses, the goddesses of the inspiration of literature, science, and the arts. The Muses are depicted with their characteristic attributes: Calliope, the muse of epic poetry, holds a scroll and a stylus; Clio, the muse of history, holds a scroll and an inscribed tablet; Euterpe, the muse of music, plays a flute; Terpsichore, the muse of dance, holds a lyre and a mask; Erato, the muse of love poetry, holds a lyre and a crown of roses; Melpomene, the muse of tragedy, wears a tragic mask and holds a thyrsus; Thalia, the muse of comedy, holds a comic mask and a cornucopia; Polyhymnia, the muse of sacred poetry and mime, plays a lyre and wears a veil; and Urania, the muse of astronomy, holds a celestial globe. This intricately carved relief, discovered in Europe, is now housed in the Glyptothek in Munich, Germany, a renowned museum dedicated to ancient sculpture. The sarcophagus's exquisite detail and masterful execution serve as a reminder of the profound influence of Greek mythology on Roman culture and the enduring power of art to inspire and captivate. This image is a visual feast for those interested in ancient history, mythology, art, and culture. It offers a glimpse into the classical world's appreciation for the arts and the role they played in everyday life, even in the context of funerary art. This Roman sarcophagus is a treasure that continues to inspire and intrigue scholars, artists, and visitors alike.
