17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
1. Title: "Ramon Llull (1235-1316) - A Visionary Catalan Scholar and Missionary: Preaching the Word of God in the Breviculum Codex" This evocative miniature from the Breviculum Codex, housed in the Baden Memorial Library in Karlsruhe, Germany, offers a captivating glimpse into the life and missionary endeavors of Ramon Llull (1235-1316), a remarkable figure from the 13th and 14th centuries. Born in Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Llull was a philosopher, theologian, and missionary who dedicated his life to spreading the Catholic faith, particularly among the Muslims and Jews of the Mediterranean world. The image depicts Llull in the act of preaching, with an angel hovering above him, symbolizing divine inspiration. He wears the simple Franciscan habit, signifying his affiliation with the Order of Friars Minor. The Breviculum Codex, a small and portable compendium of his teachings, is open before him, its pages illuminated by the light streaming in from the window. The ladder at his side represents the ascent to knowledge and spiritual growth. Llull's missionary journey took him to various European and Mediterranean cities, including Bejaia in Aragon, where he sought to engage in dialogue with the local Muslim scholars. Although he was not successful in converting the ruler of Bejaia, his efforts contributed to the development of the Catalan language as a literary and scholarly language in Europe. This exquisite miniature, with its vivid colors and intricate details, offers a poignant reminder of Llull's enduring legacy as a beacon of faith, a champion of interfaith dialogue, and a pioneer in the dissemination of knowledge during the Middle Ages. The Breviculum Codex, with its precious illustrations and Llull's groundbreaking ideas, remains an invaluable testament to the rich cultural heritage of Europe and the Mediterranean world.
