17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Step back in time with this photograph of Ryde Sheds on the Isle of Wight, showcasing a pair of Southern Region (SR) steam trains, W 25 "Godshill" and W 9 "Fishbourne," nestled in the cozy confines of the maintenance sheds. The early 1930s setting transports us to an era of old-fashioned transportation, where steam trains ruled the rails. The Southern Region, known for naming its trains after Isle of Wight place names, is represented here by these beautifully preserved locomotives. W 25 "Godshill" and W 9 "Fishbourne" are seen here in their resting place, awaiting their turn for maintenance and repairs. The sheds provide a protective cover from the elements, ensuring the trains are kept in good condition for their next journey. The scene exudes a sense of nostalgia and historical significance, as steam trains were gradually being phased out in favor of more modern forms of transportation. The intricate details of the trains, from the intricately designed steam engines to the meticulously maintained paintwork, serve as a testament to the craftsmanship and dedication of the railway workers of the time. The siding and sheds in the background add to the authenticity of the photograph, further emphasizing the importance of regular maintenance and upkeep in ensuring the smooth operation of the railway system. This photograph is a must-have for railway enthusiasts, history buffs, and anyone with a fondness for the bygone era of steam trains and vintage transportation.
