To celebrate the 100 years of the London Fire Brigade, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip reviewed the London Fire Brigade at Lambeth headquarters. The display included a representation of 17th century Insurance Company firemen in action. London's Junior firemen (16-18 years old) took the part of the insurance firemen, and fire engines and equipment of the period were used for the display

LCC-LFB Bayswater fire station, Paddington
Opened in 1904 and located in Pickering Place, Bayswater fire station closed in the early 1920s. The adoption of motorised fire engines by the London Fire Brigade led to a reduction in the number of fire stations required. A report produced for the London Country Council (London's fire authority) in 1920 recommended the closure of 15 stations, and Bayswater was one of those
