23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This striking image captures the intensity and passion of Jean Racine's portrayal of Antigone as depicted in his groundbreaking play, "Les Freres Ennemis" (The Brothers' Enemy), first performed in Paris in 1664. Racine's adaptation of the ancient Greek tragedy by Sophocles brought a new level of realism and emotional depth to the classic story. Antigone, played by an unnamed actress in this photograph, is shown in a moment of defiance and determination. With her arms crossed and a determined look in her eyes, she stands before the lifeless body of her brother, Polynices, whom she has buried in defiance of Creon's decree. The anguish and sorrow etched on her face speak to the deep emotional turmoil that drives her actions. Racine's "Les Freres Ennemis" was a landmark moment in the history of French theatre. The play marked a departure from the traditional, staid productions of the time and ushered in a new era of dramatic expression. Racine's focus on the inner lives of his characters and their complex motivations resonated with audiences and influenced the development of French literature and theatre for generations to come. This photograph serves as a testament to the enduring power of Racine's vision and the timeless nature of Antigone's story. The image invites us to reflect on the themes of family, loyalty, and the clash of moral principles that continue to resonate in contemporary society.
