17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this photograph, some of the fortunate winners of The Dancing World magazine's inaugural birthday ball are seen beaming with joy and excitement, surrounded by the vibrant energy of the 1920s London social scene. The year was 1921, and the jazz age was in full swing, with dance halls and ballrooms across the city playing host to countless revellers seeking an escape from the daily grind. The Dancing World, a popular dance publication of the time, celebrated its first birthday in grand style with an extravagant ball held at a prestigious venue in the heart of the city. The photograph captures the essence of the evening, with the prize winners, dressed in their finest attire, posing gracefully for the camera. The women, their faces radiant with happiness, wear elegant flapper dresses and intricate headpieces, while the men don sharp suits and dapper bow ties. The atmosphere of the ballroom is electric, with the sound of jazz music filling the air and the gentle clinking of champagne glasses adding to the festive ambiance. The dancers, lost in the moment, move effortlessly across the floor, their feet barely touching the ground as they sway to the rhythm of the music. The photograph is a testament to the enduring allure of dance and the power it has to bring people together, creating memories that last a lifetime. The 1920s were a time of innovation and self-expression, and this photograph encapsulates the spirit of the era, capturing the joy, energy, and excitement of a generation that lived life to the fullest. The Dancing World's first birthday ball was more than just an event; it was a celebration of the power of dance to bring people together and create unforgettable memories.
