1933 Abergeldie Enjoying Fete Margaret Elizabeth

23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this enchanting photograph, Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret of York, the future Queen Elizabeth II and the late Princess Margaret, are seen enjoying a delightful day at Abergeldie Castle Fete in Scotland in 1933. The sisters, who were the eldest and second eldest children of the Duke and Duchess of York (later King George VI and Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother), are dressed in elegant summer frocks, beaming with joy as they engage in the festivities. Abergeldie Castle, situated in Royal Deeside, Aberdeenshire, has a rich history dating back to the 15th century. The castle was the ancestral home of the Marquesses of Huntly, and it was a popular destination for the British royal family. The annual fete was an occasion for the local community to come together and celebrate, and it was an opportunity for the young princesses to mingle with the people and experience the joy of simple pleasures. The photograph captures a moment of pure happiness and innocence, as the future monarch and her sister revel in the festivities. The image is a testament to the close bond between the sisters, who remained devoted to each other throughout their lives. The photograph also provides a glimpse into the past, offering a window into the lives of the royal family during a simpler time. The sisters' outfits reflect the fashion trends of the era, with Elizabeth wearing a white blouse and a floral print skirt, while Margaret dons a blue and white polka-dot dress. The photograph is a beautiful reminder of a bygone era, and it continues to captivate and inspire generations with its timeless charm. This photograph is an important piece of royal history, and it offers a rare glimpse into the lives of the young princesses before they assumed their roles as monarch and princess consort. It is a treasure trove of historical significance, and it is a joy to behold.
