17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Step into the past and experience the intensity of aerial combat during World War II as you gaze upon the intricately detailed cockpit of a Spitfire fighter plane from 1940. This stunning photograph, captured by an unknown photographer and now available through Mary Evans Picture Library, offers a unique glimpse into the world of a second world war pilot. The Spitfire cockpit, with its amazing array of dials, switches, and controls, is a testament to the advanced mechanical engineering of the time. Each instrument and lever was essential for the pilot's survival and success in the heat of battle. The cockpit diagram reveals the complex layout of the plane's systems, from the fuel gauge and oil pressure indicator to the rudder and aileron controls. As you examine the photograph, imagine the pilot's focus and determination as he navigated the skies, evading enemy fire and executing precise maneuvers to protect his country. The cockpit's cramped quarters, filled with vital equipment, underscore the immense pressure and concentration required to fly a Spitfire during wartime. This photograph is a valuable historical record of the intense and dangerous world of World War II aviation. It offers a unique perspective on the technology, skill, and courage of the pilots who fought in the skies above during the 1940s. Whether you're an aviation enthusiast, a history buff, or simply someone who appreciates the beauty and complexity of mechanical engineering, this Spitfire cockpit photograph is a must-see.
